French actress. FH saw her in the theatre and was acquainted with her, though he exaggerates the extent of their friendship in his autobiography. In February 1914 FH was supposed to take Enid Bagnold to a lunch in Bernhardt's honour, when he was unavoidably detained, quite literally, having been sent to Brixton prison for contempt of court.
