Brunetière, Ferdinand

Editor and literary critic. First publisher of FH's first two stories, which he described to FH as "masterpieces", in the Paris magazine Revue des Deux Mondes. FH himself translated the stories - Montes, the Matador and A Modern Idyll - into French, which Brunetière then corrected before publication.
